2010 Volvo S60

The 2010 Volvo S60 incorporates futuristic technologies that can detect the position & direction of pedestrians around the car. It can also apply automatic brakes in case someone should appear out of nowhere and it tracks the velocity of the pedestrian coming toward you.. definitely a car that would help make driving on Purdue's campus safer!

The 2010 Volvo S60’s Pedestrian Detection System offers a huge safety advantage (not to mention, less chance of a lawsuit on your hands).

Check it out in the video!

The Stepford Wives (2004)

I know this movie came out a long time ago but I finally saw it last weekend. I thought it was disturbing but hysterical! It's about a career woman, Nicole Kidman, having a meltdown and moving from Manhattan to Stepford, Ct. with her husband and two children.
Upon their arrival to Connecticut, they meet their all-too-friendly neighbors and are thrown into suburban life right away. Days go on and more disturbing things start happening, women are obeying their husbandsd every desire as if they had no feelings and one woman's ear even started sparking at a picnic, something was up!

By the time Nicole Kidman finds out what is going on with the women in the town, she falls victim to be the next re-programmed computed version of herself. Her husband decides he wants to control his wife--quite literally! It turns out the men in that town are all masterminds behind Mac, AOL, Microsoft, all big computer names. They install computer chips into the women's brains in order to take charge of their functions.

I'm from the east coast so I thought it was really funny when Glenn Close, at the end of the movie, says
I asked myself, "Where would people never notice a town full of robots?" Ahhh, Connecticut!

Cars of the future, huh?

I am just loving intel today.

I was on their website snooping around when I saw that you can actually create your own 'car of the future.' Mine is electric, fully equipped with sleepy-eye detectors, an organic body design, auto sense safety, complete auto parking... it's just really cool! Now I realize there are electric cars out right now, yes. I know there are cars with cameras where you can check behind your car by looking at a screen on your dash to make sure there's no one coming.. but these cars LOOK LIKE the future of technology. They're not just your old run of the mill vehicle, but something that my generation would link back to television as a child.

I wish there were a way to get the actual finished product of my car onto the blog, but it just won't work! Here's the link if you're interested in creating your own :)

intel

Intel has come up with a service online where you can actually type in information and check to see whether or not the statement you've entered has been debated at some point in time! If it has, the post shows up high lit in pink and information backing the debated topic will appear, pretty cool.

I feel like this can be helpful to settle many rifts between people.. all they'll have to do is get onto their computer and investigate to see whether or not they're right about their debated topic!

Who comes up with this stuff?

I definitely just came across a 'control your woman talking' remote while I searched for a new TV remote. I guess some could take this as offensive, but I think it's funny. I would never invest in something as pointless as this, but at least it's pretty funny.

& No worries ladies..

There are 'control your man talking' remotes too!

Really? Combo mice?

Just when I thought I had seen it all, there is yet another useless gadget on the market. Combination mice for your computer, seriously? This is a multi-purpose mouse people are using to skype with because I'm guessing having a microphone through your fingers as you're clicking is easier than speaking into a free standing mic.
The other selling point to this 3 in 1 optical mouse is that you can also listen to what you've recorded on it and listen to your skypes on it. I thought that was the point of having speakers.. as for listening to your own posts.. that just reminds me of a yak pack circa 1995.
Don't get me wrong, I love new technology. I love skimming through the sharper image to see what's new out there for me to get my hands on, but as a site I read earlier today about this mouse said, "what a waste of plastic." I couldn't agree more.
